Title: Practice Pointers for Attorneys Representing Deployed Servicemen and Women


- Current landscape of veteran community and specific challenges facing veterans and military families.

Importance for practitioners of screening clients for military status.

Commander Scott Johnson serves as the Assistant General Counsel for Operations, Transactions and Compliance at United States Central Command providing legal advice on all military operations within the Middle East. His previous assignments include serving as the Senior Counsel to the Commander, Special Operations Command-Central and the Commander, Strike Force Training-Atlantic, as the Deputy Director of Operations for the Office of the Judge Advocate General, the Senior Defense Counsel for Navy Legal Service Office Southeast and as an associate admiralty attorney within the Navy’s Judge Advocate General’s Corps Headquarters. He earned his J.D from the University of Florida in May 2002.
