Speaker: Michael Farrell, Director U.S. EEOC Miami District

Topic:
The U.S. EEOC’s Strategic Plan for Fiscal Years 2012 - 2016 directed the Commission to develop a Strategic Enforcement Plan (SEP) that establishes priorities and integrates all components of EEOC's private, public, and federal sector enforcement. The purpose of focusing and coordinating the EEOC’s programs is to have a sustainable impact in reducing and deterring discriminatory practices in the workplace.

Michael Farrell, Director, Miami District Office, will discuss the six (6) national priorities set forth under the SEP:

• Eliminating Barriers in Recruitment and Hiring
• Protecting Immigrant, Migrant and Other Vulnerable Workers
• Addressing Emerging and Developing Issues
• Enforcing Equal Pay Laws
• Preserving Access to the Legal System
• Preventing Harassment Through Systemic Enforcement and Targeted Outreach

Additionally. Mr. Farrell will address recent developments in the EEOC Miami District, such as the ADT Charge Processing System and position statement guidance, litigation efforts and FY2015 statistics.
