This seminar will explore the concept of the “practice not the perfection of law.” In order to participate in an adversarial system one party eventually prevails while the other fails. In addition to litigation work any attorney who practices long enough will make a mistake or chose a course of action that the lawyer later regrets. Practicing law includes failing and learning from those failures. Without failing at a trial court level we would never have an appellate ruling. Without making choices and taking risks lawyers could not truly advocate for a client. The key to “failures” in the law is to make sure those failures are educated failures and that lessons are learned.
