  • Review the basics of health care legislation:Genesis of legislative proposals, sponsors, committee process, behind the scenes, proponents & opponents, amendatory process, working with affected government departments & agencies & the Governor’s Office, getting bills to the floor, bills signed or vetoed, how do you keep track of it all!
  • What happens when bills fail: explore administrative remedies, rules perhaps, back to the drawing board.What happens when bills pass: rules promulgation, declaratory statements, coalition building, glitch issues.
  • COVID specific issues: emergency powers & orders, public health emergencies, examples of some helpful and not-so-helpful government actions & work-arounds.Real life examples of health legislation.
