This seminar will educate and remind practitioners of best practices particularly under remote restrictions which will lead to better results for their clients and themselves. This seminar is A rules-based review of best practices and procedures for the workers’ compensation practitioner during the covid-19 pandemic with an emphasis on ethics and professionalism.

  • Importance of knowing and following the 60Q Rules with specific examples
  • Use of technology and techniques to practice in a pandemic
  • Change in rules to meet Local Orders on Covid restrictions

Judge Mark A. Massey has served as a workers’ compensation Judge since 2013.  Prior to that, he practiced in the area of workers’ compensation law beginning in 1988, and has been board certified since 1997.  Judge Massey also serves as a volunteer mentor and Judge with the Hillsborough County Teen Court.

Judge Rita Young will begin serving as a workers’ compensation Judge on February 1, 2019.  Previously, she served as a workers’ compensation State Mediator beginning in 1997 in Tampa and later in St. Petersburg.  Before that, she served as an Assistant State Attorney, Division Director in the 5th Circuit of Florida and as an associate with the law firm of Johnson and Sasser in Brooksville, Florida.  She served as president, vice-president and secretary/treasurer of the Hernando County Bar Association and numerous bar committees.  She received her Bachelor’s degree from Ole Miss and Master’s and Law degrees from the University of Florida.
