The Hillsborough County Bar Association is one of the largest voluntary bar associations in Florida with a membership close to 4,000 attorneys, judges and legal professionals. The HCBA is a vibrant, diverse organization that has earned a national reputation for its outstanding programs and events. Our mission is to inspire and promote respect for the law and the justice system through service to the legal profession and the community.
The HCBA affords members numerous ways to further their legal careers, to stay connected to the local legal community, and to give back through various community service programs. Throughout the year, the HCBA offers quality continuing legal education (CLE) seminars, informative membership luncheons and special events, and specific practice area education in conjunction with our more than 30 sections and committees
Each fall, the HCBA offers interactive forums and networking opportunities at the annual Bench Bar Conference & Judicial Reception
. And every spring, hundreds of HCBA members participate in the annual Judicial Food Festival & 5K Pro Bono River Run
. Members also enjoy reading the HCBA’s award-winning Lawyer magazine
, which is published six times a year.
As a service to the community, the HCBA's Lawyer Referral & Information Service
connects members of the public with qualified local attorneys who can help them resolve their legal problems.
The HCBA is located at the Chester H. Ferguson Law Center in downtown Tampa. With its elegant board rooms, conference rooms, a large ballroom, and a lounge, the law center offers a convenient meeting place for our members and is available for private rentals
for mediations, conferences, receptions and other events.
