Outstanding Young Lawyer Award

The Hillsborough County Bar Association Outstanding Young Lawyer Award recognizes an attorney who:

     • has been in practice for five years or less or is younger than 36
     • is recognized as exemplary in the area of professionalism and in the practice of law
     in his or her field
     • has performed service to the community on a personal level
     • has been actively involved in the HCBA Young Lawyers Division

This award is intended to recognize an attorney who makes a difference in the practice of law and the community because of his or her ethics and conduct.

Robert W. Patton Outstanding Jurist Award

The Robert W. Patton Award recognizes an outstanding jurist who:

     • has an excellent reputation for sound judicial decisions
     • has an unblemished record for integrity as a lawyer and judge
     • is generally recognized by Bar members as highly qualified
     • is active in Bar-related activities open to the judiciary
     • demonstrates concern or willingness to assist young lawyers and demonstrates respect for their

Outstanding Government/Non-Profit Lawyer Award

The Hillsborough County Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division established this award to recognize an outstanding record of service by a government, public sector, or non-profit attorney.

The award recognizes character, commitment, and professionalism in serving as an attorney to the public or for a non-profit organization.
